At a chamber meeting this lovely Monday morning, another member called me out for my posture (he knew I was a Chiropractor and wanted to give me grief!). I realized that posture is a common concern and question from many people and patients. However, there is no “perfect posture” to cure all your aches and pains. It is a myth!! No one posture is correct for everyone or correct for an 8 hour work day. Muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and connective tissue all love MOVEMENT. What does this mean for you?

Rather than worry about a perfect posture, move every 10 minutes. Move your arms in a few circles, change to a different chair, or move to a standing desk. Any type of change of position will keep your tissues from fatiguing. Try this for one week and you should feel a difference! Less achiness, tightness, soreness, or dull pain from those areas that are still during our long work days. Posture is one of my FAVORITE topics to help people deal with their chronic achy pains.
